Summer Meeting
MGIP members are professionals holding senior positions, the decision makers in charge of the publishing programmes. Each year they meet in an attractive location for an early Summer Meeting (Friday to Monday), with lectures, panel discussions, round-table workshops, and one-to-one meetings. Recent meetings have been held in Avignon (France), Lake Como (Italy), Porto (Portugal), Bucharest (Rumania), Portoroz (Slovenia), Windsor (England), Cape Sounio (Greece), Budva (Montenegro) and Gent (Belgium).
The atmosphere is always friendly and welcoming. Festive dinners are held, often featuring the traditions of the hosting country. Members are welcome to bring their partners and children as well.
The Motovun Group of International Publishers sponsor a Fellowship Program in joint cooperation with the Frankfurt Book Fair and the Digital Book World (New York).
Motovun also hosts evening parties and dinners for members and prospective members at the annual bookfairs in London, Bologna and Frankfurt
MGIP Book Award
Before the Summer Meeting, members are requested to send in their best books in terms of concept, design and layout for each category (art & photography, lifestyle & cookery, children, history, general interest & science, books on film). Then, during the Summer Meeting, participating members vote for their favorite books in various categories. A jury appointed among the participants chooses the Best Books for each category and the overall Best Book. The official Motovun Book Award ceremony is held during the Frankfurt Dinner.
